I hope everybody had a great 4th of July!
I want to share with you a little gift that I made for a friend of mine for her Birthday!
I started with a little piece of scrap pine (3"x3"). I sanded the rough edges smooth and painted it with my Martha Stewart craft paints. Have I mentioned how in love I am with these paints??? Once the block was completely dry, I sanded it to give is some more character.
I printed out a vinyl "G" in a font that I liked using my Silhouette Cameo and reverse weeded it. By reverse weeding I mean that I took out the "G" itself leaving a "stencil". I applied the stencil to my block, a little to the left to leave room for an embellishment. I used more Martha Stewart paints in black this time and painted on my "G". Once that was dry, I sanded again and sprayed a matte sealer on the block.
Lastly, I took a cute burlap flower that I picked up at Hobby Lobby and glued it to the upper right corner of the block!
That's it! An easy peasy little gift that my friend loved!
