Craft Swap Love!

Hey guys!

Remember last week I mentioned the fun Craft Swap that I did via Artsy Anthropology?
I was partnered up with the adorable and talented Farrell, from Quotation Marks.  After "getting to know" Farrell, I found her favorite quote and made this cute sign for her...

She absolutely loved it!  Yay!

So the other day I got some "happy mail" from Farrell.  I tore that package open so fast!!!!  I was so excited when I opened it and saw this adorable banner!!!!  Ignore the fact that there is still no molding around the door to the laundry room, k???  Thanks!

Now, if y'all know anything about me, you know that I'm all about little touches that turn your house into a home.  This is one of those touches!  I've been wanting a banner to hang in the archway of our kitchen for-EVAH!!!  Had I designed one myself, I don't think it would have been more perfect that the one that Farrell handcrafted for me!

I quickly recruited (reluctantly) the hubs in hanging my pretty new banner!

Ok, I have to say this again, it is perfect!  See how the colors are spot on???  Squee!!!  Trust me when I tell you that these pictures don't do this justice!

Thanks, Farrell and Paige!  Mwah!!!

Dollar Tree Plate Wall

Hey guys!

Today I'm going to show you a little project that the hubs and I worked on tonight...

...a Dollar Tree plate wall!

We just used three simple white plates that I picked up at our local Dollar Tree...for you guessed it...$1! Woo

I printed out my numbers with my Sillouette Cameo in black vinyl. The numbers are about 5 1/2" tall. We used plate hangers that we picked up at Michaels to hang the plates.

I think I'm kinda in love with this project!

Wanna do your own plate wall? I'll send you a set of you own numbers for just $6 shipped! Just email me at if you'd like a set of numbers (vinyl'll have to get your own plates...Hee Hee).

Retro Gift Bucket

Hey guys!

This past Friday was my Daddy's 65th Birthday! Happy Birthday, Dad!

I always struggle with gift ideas for my parents. There isn't really anything that they want or need!

I know that my Dad loves a particular black licorice (eww) that I get him at Cracker Barrel.

When I was in there last week picking some up, I got the idea to put together a "retro gift basket"!

I love all of the old time candy that they sell at Cracker Barrel!

I picked up some gum that I know he likes, the famous licorice (eww), some moon pies, candy buttons, and some other cute retro candy!

I also threw in this little game that the hubs and I always like to play when we eat there.

I didn't have a basket to put the goodies in, but I had a cute little galvanized bucket!!!! I had previously painted something on the bucket that I wasn't crazy about, so I printed out a big black oval with my Silhouette Cameo and Poppy (that's what my kiddos call him) in white!!! Ta da!!!

He loved it!!!

Craft Swap Sign

Hey guys!

I recently signed up to do a Craft Swap organized by my friend, Paige, from Artsy Anthropology.

I was matched up with the adorable and talented Farrell from While I was wandering around Farrell's blog trying to get to know her, I saw that she had a certain favorite quote. So then I knew exactly what I would make her for the swap!

Here it is!
I took an 18"x4" piece of pine, painted it grey and sanded the heck out of it! Then I printed out the quote in white vinyl and slapped that thing on there!

I hope she loves it!

Gallery Wall

Hey guys!

I just wanted to a really quick minute to show you my new itty bitty gallery wall!

I filled it with some of my favorite pics of the kiddos, a sketch that my Mother-in-law had drawn for me a few years ago, my favorite wedding pic of me and my guy.
I also added a couple of signs that I made, and a couple of pieces that I bought at Hobby Lobby.

I kinda like the eclectic look of it!

So what do you think?

Weight Loss....ugh! like many of you...I struggle with my weight!

I have since my first pregnancy.
This January I decided enough was enough! If I didn't get a freaking handle on this, I'd be dead!

So...I started seeing a doctor that specializes in weight loss. He gave me an appetite suppressant to take before each meal, a metabolism booster, a water pill, and a potassium pill. Oh, and an 800 calorie/day diet...ugh! I ended up losing just about 20lbs in the first month.

Here's a pic that was taken the first weekend in February...OMG...this is so freaking embarrassing...

I've now lost just under 60lbs...having trouble getting over the 60lb mark! Grrrr!

This pic was taken just last weekend...quite a difference! My sister- in- law and my cousin's wife have been doing great with their weight loss too...I hate them! Hahaha! for my protein shake breakfast! Yay!

I'm Ready For Some Football!

I don't know about you guys, but I wait all Spring and Summer for the return of football season!

I was born and raised a Green Bay Packer fan. My Dad has been a fan since he was a boy, and has worked with the Packer organization for the past 15 years or so.

20 years ago, I met and later married a NY Jets fan. So, when I'm not watching the Pack you can find me watching the Jets!

When my son was 9, he started playing pee wee football and hubs started coaching. Needless to say, when it involves my kiddos, I'm the biggest and loudest cheerleader you can imagine!

A few years later, my baby girl decided to follow in her brother's footsteps and play tackle football in the pee wee league! I couldn't have been prouder of my girl!

Again, I was the loudest and proudest cheerleader for the team!

When my kiddos got too old to play in this league, their former coach would still ask me to come to the games and cheer the team on! So, I've become the life long team Mom for the Town of Cortlandt Packers!

So how about you? Are you a fan of football?

Tattoos and piercings!

I posted this pic last week because I thought it was awesome!

I have a tattoo AND a nose piercing! Bet ya didn't know that!

I don't seem like the type, right? That's why I love them! I love to keep people guessing and throwing them off a bit! Haha!

I got my nose pierced about three years ago. A few months later my nose ring fell out and for some reason, couldn't get one back in. I missed my nose ring, though!

When my little chickie asked me in June if she could get her nose pierced, my response was "of course"! The wheels started turning in my head, and I knew that I would be a support to her and get mine done first to show her it was no biggie!

So there ya have it, my re-piercing!

I also got my first tattoo in June, just after my 40th birthday. I had been wanting one for a looong time!

I designed my tattoo in memory of my younger brother, Tommy. He died 7 years ago after a long battle with Lymphoma. When he passed, my little chickie was only 8 years old. To signify his new home in Heaven, I told her that when she looks into the night's sky he would be the brightest star she sees!

So, this is the design that I came up with!

Angel's wings for my bother, the Angel, and the star is a symbol of his home in Heaven (purple is my fav color). It's on my inner right calf so that I can see it all the time!

P.S. this post was inspired by one done last week by Chelsea from Sunny With A Chance Of Sprinkles! Check out her tats...I love them!

So, how about you? Any tattoos or piercings? Any story behind them?

Summer Wrap-up

School bells will ring...ding dong dong dong!

My Dad used to sing this to us on the first day of school every year! It always made me smile! When my kiddos started school, I would sing it to them. I quickly found out how much it irritated them! So now I do it to aggravate them! Haha!

My baby girl will be starting her sophomore year today! What? How the heck did that happen???

Anyway, in honor of the start of the new school year, I thought I'd do a quick summer wrap-up!

In June, my son graduated high school! Again, what?

Here's a pic of hubs and I with our graduate! Before I started crying, that is!

And a pic of my babies together... This one cost me! Haha!

In July we headed down to the beach house that we rent every year in Lavallette, NJ.

This is a family trip that we take every year.

My brother, sister in law, niece, nephew, aunts, uncles, and cousins all join us on this trip! In all there's about 30 of us now! Woo! Everyone gets their own beach house, and we alternate which fam does dinner at night.

We all get together for trips to the boardwalk, water park and fireworks. We meet each morning on the beach and play beach volleyball together each night! It's so much fun and a great bonding experience!

Here's the hubs playing with our nephew on the beach.

This is my son building sand castles with my niece.

This is my handsome nephew!

All in all, our summer was a blast!

Hope yours was too!

EC Goes International, Baby!

That's right! I shipped out my very 1st international order the other day! Woo hoo!

When I was asked to send this sign across the pond for a customer to give her "mum" as a gift I was downright giddy! The thought of one of my handcrafted pieces making it's forever home in another country is so awesome!

I hope I get to send more of my pieces outside our borders in the future!
