Are You Kidding Me???

The other day, the Prince and I were sitting outside on the deck.  I commented that the Hostas looked incredible around the big tree (I have no idea the name of the tree) in our yard.

Today, I came outside to find this:

Apparently, Daisy and Cody were playing with a tennis ball and said ball ended up in my Hostas!!!!

Grrr!!!!!

'Til next year beautiful Hostas...sob sob.

Bowling.

A couple of weeks ago on my Birthday post, I hinted that I would be talking more about bowling in the future.

That time is now!

As you all know, the Prince and I went through some rough spots in our marriage last summer into fall.  This winter, my Prince lost his father.

In an effort for the two of us to try to reconnect... (get your minds out of the gutter, ladies!!!  Hee hee) we started bowling together, just the two of us!

Bowling is something that both of us enjoyed as children, and have enjoyed doing as a family.

We both went and bought our own bowling balls!  This is mine!

We have been trying to bowl once a week.  Mostly on our days off while the kiddos are in school.

We are having a great time, and are really enjoying the together time!  We are even thinking about joining a league!!!

Middle School Drama

Ugh!  We all remember what it's like to be a 13 year old girl, right?

Remember how important it was to fit in, to have the right clothes, the right shoes, the right hair?

Remember how the "mean girls" treated those who didn't quite fit in?

Those feelings stuck with me all these years.  So much so that I dreaded my little Josie reaching this stage of life.

Well, now she's reached it!  Ugh!

She's constantly distraught over how this one group of girls is treating her other friends.  My heart really breaks for her.  I really just want to take her in my arms and shield her from all of the drama!

She's her own person. Which makes me sooo happy!  She doesn't go out of her way to fit in and I think that is why so many kids like her.  She really tries to distance herself as much as she can from all of the drama.

However, because she's a little sweetie-pie, and cares so much for people, it hurts her to watch this all go on.

She called me tonight at work and was telling me that this particular group of girls wouldn't leave her alone tonight at Youth Center.  They kept on her about not hanging out with this one particular girl, because they are singling this girl out for some reason.

I told her that she needs to just tell them that she will be friends with whoever she wants and that she doesn't want any part of the drama that they are trying to create.

Triple UGH!!!

Any advice, ladies????

Just Plain Sweet!

Maybe it's the fact that my cousin is getting married next week, or the fact that my dear friend's anniversary is coming up... whatever it is, it's bringing out the sappy and sentimental side of me!

Check out this little tease... this adorably sweet postcard sized plaque is one of a series of 5 and will be going up on my Etsy store tomorrow.  Be the 1st to grab one!

A Special Request from a Great Friend.

My friend Shawn saw the Paris plaque that I added last week to my Etsy store and asked me if I could create one for her with a picture of her husband and her from their trip to New Orleans when they were first married.

She said that she wanted to surprise her hubby with it for their anniversary!  How sweet is that???

So... this is what I came up with...

Shawn and I have been friends since we were literally babies and I so hope she loves this and that her hubby does too!!!

Happy Birthday to MEEE!!!

This Satuday was my 38th Bithday!  Yay me!!!

My Prince always makes me feel like a Princess on my Birthday.

He did not disappoint this year!  He presented me with a beautiful emerald (my birthstone) and diamond pendant!  So pretty!

He also took the kids and I to my favorite getaway place in the world... Lake George, NY!

The weather was absolutely gorgeous!

This picture was taken from the balcony of our suite!  Gorgeous!!!

Here's my babies at sunset!

These pictures were taken with my Blackberry (Crackberry), sorry they are so blurry.

We did some shopping, some bowling (more on that in a later post), some more shopping... hee hee!

What a great weekend!!!

Fleur-de-lis Project

I recently had a wonderfully sweet woman contact me via my Etsy shop and ask me if I could produce a large number of my Elegant Fleur-de-lis plaques for her.

I'm going to admit that I was a little nervous when I saw her request.  I don't usually do my signs/plaques in large numbers.  My first thought was that my plaques were going to end up at a craft fair being sold under someone else's name.

Boy oh boy was I wrong!

She explained that her son is getting married later this year in Texas.  She is from Louisianna, and was anxious to bring a little bit of her home state to the rehearsal dinner... in the form of the Fleur-de-lis!!!!

What a great idea!!!

So, my Elegant Fleur-de-lis will be used as favors for the guests at the rehearsal dinner.  I'm so excited to be a part of this for this wonderful woman!!!

Last week, she contacted me again and asked me to customize my Sparkle Chandelier plaques with a Fleur-de-lis for the Bridal party. How fun!!!

I'm really so excited and thrilled to be doing this special project!!!

We had a such a great time!

This will be my sister-in-law's very first Mother's Day!

Local Excitement!

The big buzz around here lately is that Kate Winslet is filming an HBO miniseries in the next town over!!!!

You can see the article from our local news here.

It was amazing to see how the set designers re-did the store fronts to make them look as they may have back in the 1930's.

The center of town was filled with antique cars and actors/extras dressed in 30's clothes.

We never saw Kate, but it was still REALLY cool!!!!
