Dollar Tree Frame Re-Do

Ya'll know how much I looove the Dollar Tree! I stopped in there last night for some wrapping paper, just some wrapping paper and we all know that we always walk out of there with more than what we went in there for, right?

I saw these cute picture frames.

I thoought they were cute, but knew that I could make the REALLY cute! The frame had a cute white bow to hang the frame from.

I applied some maple stain to the raised edges with a sponge brush because I wanted those areas to stand out more.

Then I slopped on some Ralph Lauren glaze in Smoke, and wiped it off.

Tool of the trade:

I added a photo of Auntie Dawn's favorite subject, Madeline Grace!

Here you can see the effect of the stain and the glaze pretty well.

Lastly, I hot glued some pretty brown ribbon on the back of the frame and tied it in a bow to hang.

I think it turned out pretty cute and must head back to Dollar Tree for more of these frames!

I'm linking up to Trash to Treasure at Reinvented and DIY Day at A Soft Place to Land.

  6. Very cute! The frame and your niece! I have started going into Dollar Tree knowing that I will come out with more than the specific item I went in there for. Thankfully, it doesn't break the bank!
