Merry Christmas!!!!

This will be my last post before Christmas. I'm going to take a few days off to spend with the fam.

I wanted to wish all of you, my bloggy family, a very Merry Christmas!

I hope you all enjoy your holiday and the time spent with family and friends.

Before I go, I want to share two final Christmas gifts with you.

This first on I made for our dear neighbors.

This last one I made for my cousin Jennie. We celebrate Christmas with my Mom's side of the family on Christmas Eve. The tradition is to put all the names of the young ones in a hat. I have 2 kiddos, so I choose 2 names.

Jennie is going to be 16 next month and has just re-done her room in browns and blues.

Once again... Merry Christmas with hugs and kisses from all of us at Eventually Cottage!!!

Catching Up!

So... I want to take a breather from the pre-Christmas chaos going on here at Eventually Cottage to catch you all up on what's been going on here.

This past Sunday, Princess Maddy was baptised. Prince Charming and I are her Godparents and couldn't be more thrilled!!!

The Princess' gown was custom made from her Mommy's wedding gown. It was soooo beautiful!!!!!!!

We love this little girl sooo much!

As I told you previously, we were all set to bring our puppy, Lexi Lu, home for the holidays. Unfortunately, about 3 weeks ago, she had a bad reaction to her vaccine and passed away.

Needless to say, we were heartbroken.

We gave it some thought and the idea of giving a needy dog a home for the holidays was overwhelming. I had fallen in love with a pup at my friends shop where she adopts out needy dogs. I couldn't get this pup out of my head.

So...Miss Daisy came home with us! She's a 9 month old Plot hunting dog. Unfortunately, she has spent her entire life in a crate, so we are having some issues with behavior. I know she'll get past it with some guidance.

Miss Daisy has made her self right at home here at Eventually Cottage. We just love her!

I also mentioned that we've decided to totally re-do our family room. I had just gotten tired of EVERYTHING in it!!!

So, we found and purchased new flooring for the room. It's beautiful Brazillian Cherry hardwood. I had always been against cherry because I knew that it probably came from the rain forests and thoguht it was terrible for the environment. However, it's just perfect for the room.... please don't hate me.

We also ordered a new sectional for the room. I'm now looking for the perfect chair to go with it.

We're hoping to start the project right after Christmas. I'll take plenty of pics and will be sure to keep you all updated!

I have yet to wrap a single gift... yes, you heard that right. Not a single gift! Lucky for me, I've bribed Josie and her BFF with cookies and hot cocoa and they will wrap for me this evening. SCORE!!!!

Monogram Ornament Gifts

How are we all doing with our Christmas preparations?

I'm pretty much ready... I think. Hee hee!

I've been working on some last minute gifts for family and friends (isn't it funny how that list keeps growing? Not that I'm complaining, by the way)

I thought I'd share a last minute ornament gift that I've been working on.

Monogram Ornaments!

I started with a 3" x 5" piece of 1/4" mdf, some of my fav scrapbook paper, monograms cut out with my new Calligraphy Cricut cartridge in the Matrimony font.

I Mod Podged the scrapbook paper onto the mdf. Once that was thoroughly dry, I added the monogram and a few more coats of Mod Podge (allowing each coat to thoroughly dry before I added another coat)

Once everything was nice and dry, I used some sandpaper to file off the excess paper and make the edges nice and smooth.

I finished each ornament off with some bling (sorry you can't really see that in the pics), and a black ribbon for hanging.

As you can see, I've been real busy with these. Hee hee!

I'm linking up to Kimba's DIY Day... head over and check it out!

Santa Claus is coming to town!

Wow! Is it just me or did the holiday seem to just appear out of nowhere?

Things are crazy here at Eventually Cottage!

I hope you are all enjoying stringing your lights, hanging mistletoe, wrapping gifts, and baking cookies!

On top of the usual holiday craziness, we've welcomed a new adopted puppy into the house and have decided to completely re-do our family room. Stay tuned!

Happy Holidays with tons of hugs and kisses!

Tweet Tweet!

I've been very busy creating more holiday gifts! I'm having so much fun! The Prince is also having fun helping me.

This is another plaque that started as a sheet of 1/4" mdf. The Prince cut it into 6"x6" pieces for me.

I added some of my very favorite toile scrapbook paper with Mod Podge. I spray painted the little wooden bird with Rustoleum flat black.

I lightly sanded the edges of the plaque and the bird, then added some maple stain to the edges to add some antiqueing.

I used my Gorilla glue to add the bird to the plaque. I also added a pretty cream and black paper flower that I found at Hobby Lobby.

With some black ribbon for hanging, it's all ready for gift giving!!!

I'm linking up to DIY Day again at Kimba's!!! LOVE DIY Day, I get so much inspiration from the party go-ers!!!!
