A Surprise Gift For Me!!!

My dear mother-in-law had this sketch done for me as a surprise. It was done off of our Christmas card photo from a few years ago. I absolutely love it! I'm not sure where I'm going to hang it yet, because it needs a really special spot. I'm just so excited about it that I had to share it with you guys!

I hope you are havving a great weekend!

A beautiful day!

Yesterday was an absolutely beautiful day here in New York! Prince Charming and I decided it was the perfect day to take in a new nearby walking path along the Hudson River. The Prince and I both grew up along the river, and love it! This walking path is in my home town which is just south of where we live now. I've heard that this path is part of a project that will connect NYC to Albany, so you can either walk of ride a bike from one to the other. Not sure how they are going to do that, but we'll watch and see.
Prince Charming and George taking Abby for a stroll. Poor Brady has degeneration of the bones in his neck and is no longer able to be walked on a leash, so he enjoyed a quiet day at home.

Abby was LOVING the water...

...and rolling in the sand! I hope you are all enjoying your weekend as much as we are!

Honest Scrap Award!!!

Lilly Sue has passed the Honest Scrap award onto me! The requirements are to list 10 things about myself, and then to pass it on.

So here goes!

1. If I could afford to, I would own a huge farm and take in as many homeless animals as I possibly could. I firmly believe in animal adoption!

2. I hate to be alone! As much as I say I would just love some "me time", it's really not something that I enjoy. Wierd, huh? I absolutely love having a house full.

3. My husband is my very best friend. I feel so fortunate to be able to spend everyday of my life with such a special man!

4. I am so proud of my children that it brings me to tears!!! I am that mom that sits in the stands my my kids football games (both George and Josie play tackle football) and is brought to tears at the sight of them in their uniforms.

5. I LOVE my family! I mean my entire family! I absolutely love my aunts and uncles... they are like extensions of my parents. I adore my cousins... they are all like brothers and sisters to me! I love nothing more than to get together as a big group for a bbq or something. They all have the best sense of humor!

6. I love to curl up on the couch with a great mystery.

7. I love the feel of a paintbrush in my hand.

8. I want to be a stay at home mom.

9. I believe in angels.

10. I love mint chocolate chip ice cream!

Stay tuned, because I'll be passing this onto some of you later!!!

Thanks, Lilly Sue!

Do you wish upon a star?

I do! When my dear brother passed away almost two years ago, my Josie had a really tough time dealing with it. I explained to her that her Uncle Tommy was now an angel in heaven, and if she ever needed to talk to him, just to look for the brightest, biggest star in the sky.

Now when she sees the North Star come out at night, she identifies it as Uncle Tommy.

Stars hold special meaning to us here at Eventually Cottage.

I L*O*V*E these frames!!!!

I found these little square frames at the Dollar Tree. I cannot tell you how much I love them! They come with the weakest paint job on them that you could imagine, but the size and the shape of them are great! Each time I go to DT, I pick up as many as I can that don't have broken glass. I just spray paint the frames (ok, so Prince Charming does!).

I even used them in the goodie bags for Josie's birthday. PC spray painted those frames white and I used scrapbooking paper to put the girls' initials in the frame. They came out really cute, I wish I had taken a picture of them, but of course I didn't.
This is a trio of those fabulous frames. I showed you the middle one on Valentine's Day. I just did these with scrapbooking paper, and the Cricut.
If you have a Dollar Tree near you, GO... NOW! I'd love to see what you all do with them!!!
Oh, by the way, I have a TON of these frames, so stay tuned for more projects using them. I know for sure that they will make an appearance for SIL's baby shower.

Passing on The Sisterhood Award

As you all know, Janet was kind enough to bestow on my the Sisterhood Award the other day. I'd like to now pass this award on to the following lovely women (in no particular order):

Michelle
Tanielle
Xazmin
Jodi
Amanda
Martha
LillySue
Robin
Karol
Janet

It was very difficult to narrow this selection down to 10 "Sisters"!!! So many of you have stopped by Eventually Cottage over the past month and touch my life with kindness. All of you have either lent advice when I needed it, lent support/encouragement when I needed it, or just left a kind word or two. I appreciate each and every friend that stops by and visits with me. You are all an inspiration to me! Thank you so much!
