The story of a little table.

Last Saturday, Josie and I were driving home from a christening to pick up George. We were just cruising down the street when all of a sudden, I see 2 tables on the side of the road. Each of them had signs on them that said, "FREE!"

Free? I nearly got whiplash!

Since dear, diva Josie was unwilling to help her Mamma, I waited until I got George. He shares my love of junking... err, searching for thrify treasures!

When we got back to where the tables were, the homeowners were in the driveway. No biggie to me, but little diva was mortified to say the least!

The homeowners confirmed that the tables were indeed free. I thanked them, took the little table that I wanted and was off!

I was pleased as punch the rest of the day!!!!

Below is the after. After I sanded, primed, and spray painted it satin black. Then added some stencils in off-white, antiqued it, and polyed it.

I'm pretty happy with this little table! It's exactly the perfect size for the area just outside the powder room!

  1. CUTE! Free stuff is the best. I haven't found anything "road-side" in my thrifting yet. :)

  10. I always stop when I see something good in the trash.

I love your little table. I have a similar one and use it for our phone in the entry.

  11. Nice score! Great "trash" finds are one thing I do miss about moving from near the city out to the real 'burbs. By the time everyone gets out here they've already pretty well upgraded everything! And you know, not as much traffic means things on the curb are more likely to get destroyed by rain than taken home... oh well... Good job on your transformation!
