Home Re-Do One Room at a Time- The REVEAL!

It's finished!!! Remember the Home Re-Do One Room at a Time challenge that I joined over at Family of Shorts? Remember the before pictures? Yikes!

I've been working my butt off to make the changes that I wanted, and the changes that you all suggested. I didn't get the pillow covers finished, but oh well. I'll save them for another time.

Warning: If you like the matchy matchy look (not that that's bad), you may want to look away! LOL!

WELCOME to Eventually Cottage!

This is the after of our "entry." You may remember that this was often filled with random shoes and backpacks. I took your suggestions and added a basket by the front door for all the stuff that comes in the house. I also added a set of hooks by the back door for the backpacks and shopping bags.

You may also recognize my free radio cabinet!

This is the tv wall. Try as I might, I could NOT get a clear picture of this area!

These shelves were the basic ones from Target in a dark brown. We painted them a creamy white and antiqued them so that my accessories would stand out more.

Bet you think that big old tv is for Prince Charming, right? NOPE! He gave that to me for Christmas two years ago so that I could watch my football games on it!!! I LOVE football!

This is our sofa. It's my blogging spot, it's where Josie and I snuggle and watch our favorite shows, and it's Abby's normal napping spot!

This is the ugly chair! I told ya it was staying! LOL! Again following your suggestions to add so more color to this area, hubby and I re-did this window. I love the way it turned out!!!

You'll also see my Craig's List rocking chair that I posted about a while ago.

This is the former hutch top that belonged to my cousin. It is now a beautiful cabinet that houses the books, dvd's, and magazines that used to be in a basket next to the sofa and looked like a mess all the time!

And because ya'll know how much I believe in frugal decorating (I preach about it enough, right?) I wanted to be sure to show you this candle tray. Can you guess what it used to be? It started life as one of those silver dollar store trays! I spray painted it with an oil rubbed bronze spray paint and WELLA!

So, that's it! I hope you enjoyed the tour!

Don't forget to stop by Family of Shorts to check out the other reveals and Between Naps on the Porch for more Met Mondays!

  12. Nancy- LOL! Those iron grilles on the wall above the cabinet came from The Christmas Tree Shop a couple of years ago. Believe it or not, they were $3.99! Wierd that I remember that, huh?

Amanda- We sanded the shelves a little bit, a real little bit because I hate sanding! Used Kilz primer, and then just creamy white spray paint in satin finish. I used left over walnut stain to antique them!
