Goings on at the Cottage

So, I thought I'd catch you up on what's going on here at Eventually Cottage. On top of finishing up my family room re-do in time for the deadline of Amanda's Home Re-Do One Room at a Time over at Family of Shorts (see her button on the left), we're in the middle of installation of our new pool.

Below is what it's going to look like when it's done!

Yeah right!!!

It will look more like this one.

And I'm fine with this one! My hope is that my kids and their friends, and our family will have years of fun in this pool!

I do have a question for all of you pool owners out there. How do you store all of the pool toys and accessories? I have scary visions of pool noodles and floaties scattered throughout our yard.

Enjoy your weekend! I will be spending mine at SIL's baby shower, doing some planting, making sure all of my American flags are flying, and sewing pillow covers for the family room.

Don't forget to take some time on Monday to honor our veterans and the men and women that are currently serving our country in the military. After all, that's what the day is all about!

  1. How nice to have a pool. I have a big bench that we got at HD that has storage inside and all the pool stuff is stored in there. Makes it easy to get out and easy to clean up. Comfortable to sit on too . Enjoy the pool. Hugs, Marty

  2. My dream is to have on like photo #1, but right now I will settle for the 3 foot plastic kiddie pool from Wal-Mart. ;)

  3. Looks like a lot of fun!!! I love swimming pools. We don't have one, but we are always pool-hopping at the neighbors' pools! Have a great weekend.

  4. I was dying over that first pool! The other pool is great too. And to think I am happy with the family pool my daughter has that is deep enough for me to sit in with the water up to my chest!

  6. How exciting!! We do not have our own pool, our pool is Lake Tuscaloosa!!! But, we are fortunate enough to have a few friends & family with pools. My mother in law has a large chest thing, I don't really know what they are called, but it is like rubber maid or something. You can find them at Lowes or another home impovement store. They have this placed on the deck surrounding the pool. For the larger floats, they just store them in the attic when they are not being used. Good Luck with this! If you don't find something your yard will def. be noodle city!!

  7. I grew up with a pool. We used to have a shed within the pool area that we used to store all our toys and equipment in.
Now that I have my own home, we throw an EZ up pool up in the summer months. I have vintage school lockers that house our hoses, noodles, and chlorine bottles :0)
    Have fun with your pool.
