I need help with my window treatments. HELP!!

Ok, if there are two things where I am definately decorating challenged it's window treatments and table scapes. Today, I am begging for help with my window treatments.

I posted a couple of pictures of my breakfast room re-do on Saturday. In one you can see that the roman shades that I bought don't quite fit. I actually don't mind that fact too too much. However, I am finding the whole look a little boring.

You can agree with me, it's ok. I am looking for a more simple look, but I'm not really sure this is what I want. ):

I would love your suggestions, and would REALLY love pictures!

  1. Don't know quite how I found you but I am happy that I did. Love the site and your blog list is amazing. Thanks for all of the great ideas. I love your wall color in this post too. Good choice!! Ever thought about painting your table?

  2. Hey there, redpolkadot! Thanks for visiting Eventually Cottage! I'm so glad that you stopped by, and really glad that you like it here!

Have a I thought about painting the table... oh yeah!

However, hubby and the kids seem to think that I have a slight disorder that causes me to have to paint absolutely everything. I don't really see a problem, though. Anyhoo, I promised when we bought this set around New Years that I wouldn't paint it. I'll give it a little while longer before I start talking about painting it. Hee, hee, hee!!!

Thanks again for visiting! I hope to hear from you again soon!

  3. Hey there! I think some light, simple panels would look great, or have you seen the roman shades I made? They really are easy, and you can use any fabric you want!

  4. Is the table far enough away from the wall for some long curtain panels? That would really dress it up. I would love to have panels in my kitchen but our radiator and garbage can are right under the window so I'm thinking that wouldn't end well. lol

  5. So glad you visited me so now I know about you and your blog! Love it! I just looked through your past posts and couldn't believe it when I saw your redo of the antique radio cabinet. I have one in my attic that I think is exactly like yours. I got it at a garage sale for $5 and couldn't pass it up. I can't believe you got yours for free! I haven't done anything with it yet, but yours looks so good that I am going to have to get it down, work on it, and find a place for it!

  6. i would leave your shade up and add a side panel on each side of the window to the floor for softness, if you are wanting lots of color then be daring, if not i too can see a soft pretty color. You could even extend the rod past the window so that most of the curtain is actually on the wall, it will give the appearance of a larger window, that is my intentions for our living room someday when i get myself

  7. Hi guys! Thanks for giving me your advice!

Sarah- of course I have seen your roman shades! I love your blog! I am honored that you took the time to visit me here! My issue is that I have an idea of what the fabric I want looks like, but I only have one source for fabric here- Walmart. I can't seem to find anything that I like there. I'll keep looking, though.

Michelle- I am thinking about panels, but the baseboard heater is right under the window. Do you think it would be ok to have the panels a little shorter than usual as long as it isn't seen because of the table?

Angie- thanks for visiting my blog, I'm glad you like it! Get going on that antique radio cabinet, girl! I will definately want to see pics of the after!

Thanks again, ladies! I hope to hear form you again soon!

I loove me some comments! Hugs!
